The Houndstooth Card, a Visa Pre-Paid Gift Card, is available in amounts from $20 to $500.
Fees
- No Purchase Fees!
- $5 monthly inactivity fee for cards without activity after a 12-month period
- $5 card reissue fee
Use
The use of The Houndstooth Card is subject to the Visa Gift Card Terms and Conditions. The Houndstooth Card may be used at any merchant that accepts VISA as a point-of-sale (POS) signature-based “credit” transaction, or for purchases over the internet or by phone.
Visa requires all pre-paid cards to display the word “debit” on the face of the card, but the card must be processed as a “credit” when making purchases because no PIN is issued.
The card cannot be used at an ATM as no PIN is issued.
Pay-at-the-pump transactions will pre-authorize a specific amount (varies by merchant) which may be greater than your balance. This may result in a decline. Go inside and authorize a specific amount with your balance.
Other merchants that frequently pre-authorize an amount higher than your final bill are hotels, car rental companies, and airlines.
