Closing Manager – Mortgage

Description & Requirements

Job Summary: The Mortgage Closing Manager provides management for the Closing Department. Perform daily tasks with a sense of urgency with the ultimate focus of meeting or exceeding deadlines. Ensure loan quality standards are being met and that staff is following company policy and procedure.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage daily operations of closing;
  • Provide and develop training for new hires as well as providing ongoing training for existing staff;
  • Administer and communicate new policy and procedures as necessary to eliminate future issues found through this process;
  • Review pipeline reports to ensure timelines are being met and data accuracy;
  • Manage close of escrow, QC issues and expiration dates, review with other management to find solutions to any recurring errors;
  • Update staff with industry and regulatory changes;
  • Maintain data integrity in Encompass by evaluating files in process to ensure they have been closed accurately.

Job Requirements:

  • Five (5) years Operations/Closing Management Experience in Wholesale Lending;
  • Two (2) years of management experience;
  • Strong verbal & written communications skills;
  • Strong problem solving skills;
  • Excellent interpersonal, customer service and organizational skills;
  • Ability to move between tasks quickly; able to respond to pressure situations easily and work productively in a fast paced, sometimes stressful environment;
  • Knowledge of Conventional loans, escrow/title practices, as well as regulatory compliance laws as they apply to mortgage closing transactions;
  • Superior knowledge of personal computers and applicable software, including Microsoft Office;
  • Knowledge of TRID, RESPA, TILA, MDIA, regulatory compliance and legal requirements.

There is currently a Credit Underwriter position open at our Daphne office.

Job Requirements:

  • This job will support both commercial and personal banking;
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred;
  • Two (2) years experience in credit analysis and/or underwriting experience;
  • Reviews and evaluates information on loan documents to determine if loan conditions meet established bank standards;
  • Sound understanding of business and personal financial statements including income statement, balance sheet and tax returns;
  • Handles complex loans and/or loans of an exceptional basis requiring traditional underwriting;
  • Determines terms and acceptability of risk of prospective loans;
  • Recommends approval or rejection of loan application, or requests additional information;
