Loan Processor – Mortgage

Description & Requirements

SUMMARY:

Obtains necessary information (i.e. loan applications, credit documents, appraisals, etc.) to process and complete mortgage loan files. Provide quality, accurate and timely customer service (internal and external) involving daily processing of mortgage loans, which include the duties and responsibilities described herein.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Process new mortgage loan applications; input new loan data into loan software programs and investor automated underwriting systems.
  • Review and analyze credit documentation; compile information and update credit as needed to comply with investor approval requirement and prepare loans for underwriting.
  • Monitor status of loans in pipeline on regular basis; communicate with originators, borrowers, real estate agents and appraisers.
  • Maintain loan submission register; confirm lock-in sheets with secondary market; order flood certificates and process cancelled loan files and refund checks.
  • Comply with bank policies and procedures, regulatory requirements and investor guidelines. Prepare and submits closing instructions to attorneys
  • All other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required.

High School diploma required, Associates degree preferred. 2-3 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience

COMPUTER AND OFFICE EQUIPMENT SKILLS:

  • Microsoft Office
  • Encompass knowledge a plus

Loan Operations Loan Processor (Part Time)

Birmingham

Description & Requirements

There is currently a part-time Loan Operations Loan Processor position open in our Birmingham market.

Job Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent;
  • Five (5) years banking experience with five (5) years of loan operations experience required to include: Booking loans to core system, including abililty to determine correct coding and recognition of deficient loan documentation;
  • Experience with Jack Henry loan systems preferred;
  • Outstanding internal customer service skills required;
  • Attention to detail and excellent performance record;
  • Enjoy being part of a team in a growing bank;
  • Good organizational, communication and analytical skills;
  • Intermediate to advance computer skills, including the ability to use electronic mail systems, internet, and microsoft office products;

The Customer Service Specialist needs to have a thorough understanding of documentation and compliance requirements for opening and servicing bank deposit accounts and other products.  This position will work directly with the customer soliciting business from deposit  customers and prospects with the ability and willingness to deliver unbeatable customer service.

Successful candidate should possess time management skills, strong communication skills, strong teamwork skills, strong attention to detail and ability to multi-task.

Education and/or Experience

  • High School diploma or equivalent required and 2 years of related experience and/or training in banking or finance preferred.
  • 4-5 years’ experience as a bank Customer Service Specialist preferred.

Computer Skills

  • Basic computer skills including the ability to use electronic mail systems, internet, and Microsoft Office products.
