Meet Scott Ellis – New Bryant Bank Huntsville VP Mortgage Loan Officer

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Bryant Bank is excited to announce the addition of Scott Ellis to our Huntsville team! Scott joins us as Vice President, Mortgage Loan Officer with seven years of experience in mortgage and 15 years of experience as a Financial Advisor. And he’s no stranger to the Rocket City, having grown up in Huntsville!

We had a chance to ask Scott some questions for our Bryant Bank Blog so everyone could get to know him a little better!

Q: What is one of your most memorable moments working in the mortgage industry?
A: I had one client who refinanced their home with me, then referred her mother to me for her purchase.  Later, we did her son’s home purchase. Then she decided to build a brand-new home and chose us as her lender (even though the builder had enticed her with $4000 closing cost credit to go with their lender). She recognized the importance of going with someone she trusted & would steer her in the right direction. I believe we still saved her money on that purchase.

Q: What is your favorite thing about being a mortgage lender?
A: I love the ability to help people. I know when people leave my office they are getting a great deal. I enjoy offering solutions and solving problems for people to help them with the sometimes-difficult process of financing their homes.

Q: What are some fun facts about your family?
A: My entire family is here in Huntsville. My brother & sister are both business owners and my parents are retired & happy. I have six nephews and nieces. The oldest plays Lacrosse at Washington & Lee and the youngest jumped in the lake on a dare after Christmas dinner this year.

Q: Where did you grow up, go to school, and what are some of your hobbies?
A: I grew up in Huntsville, attended The University of Alabama and lived in Nashville for the first 15+ years of my career. I am glad to be back in the Huntsville area where I enjoy golf, college football, and cooking.

Q: What do you love most about the Huntsville community.
A: I enjoy running in to old friends and making new ones. The Huntsville economy brings a diverse group of people from all over to work in the Defense, Aerospace and Technology hub our city offers.
